Demonstration in Italy due to the establishment of a fast train line linking France



Thousands of people demonstrated in Italy yesterday in protest against the establishment-speed rail line linking Italy and France over the Alps.

The channel France - 24 news that the French members of parliament, trade unions, students and environmentalists in Italy took part in the demonstration which was held in the village of "Val di Susa" where it began the first phase of the project, which connects the cities of "Turin" Italian and "Leon" French and runs through the Alps.

The demonstrators carried banners reading "We will not allow anyone to steal our future" and "not to pollute the environment" and others.

The project was first launched in 1991 but its implementation has been postponed for several times, where he is expected - in the case to be completed in 2029 - that shorten travel time between Turin and Lyon to only about 4 hours instead of 7 hours.
