Said German Foreign Minister today, Friday, "that Berlin is still reluctant to allow EU countries to provide arms Syrian opposition fighters, before a meeting on this issue with his European counterparts in Dublin.
Guido Westerwelle told reporters, "Germany remains reluctant to provide arms."
He said: "It is a very difficult issue, but we will try to reach a joint agreement" within the European Union, adding, "I think it's possible."
He explained that "the survival of a unified EU is crucial, the more we are united the stronger influence."
For his part, reiterated his Austrian counterpart Michael سبيندليغر his country's strong opposition to lifting the ban, something which defended by France and Britain.
According to French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, that "will allow the Syrian opposition fighters to defend themselves with the knowledge that if the lifting of the ban should not work and provided weapons falling in the hands of the enemy."
