The Economist: American and Israeli stances are close on Iran

Magazine said, "The Economist" British American and Israeli positions PATA closer toward Iran in the wake of the visit of U.S. President Barack Obama to the Middle East.

The magazine spotted - in a commentary posted on its website Friday - the dominance of the Iranian issue to the other issues addressed by the meeting, "Obama - Netanyahu," which lasted for five hours of talks.

The magazine highlighted the role played by Iran in the region, referring to the efforts of the money - about $ 10 billion so far - and gear and experts in support of its strategic ally Bashar al-Assad in Syria, as well as funding for "Party of God" in control of southern Lebanon.

And demonstrated "The Economist" on the convergence of the views of the Obama and Netanyahu about Iran's nuclear program more than ever before, with reference to the conversation in the joint press conference; where Obama made it clear understanding of Israel's position المتخوف and calling for military action urgently against Tehran, which was considered by the magazine as a threat to Iran that America will not prevent Israel from taking such action.

It noted the British Journal for that, until recently, was Obama's talk concentrated on preventing Iran's acquisition of a nuclear weapon, as if he were allowed to collect Iran to the elements necessary to do so as long as it will not provide effectively making this weapon, pointing to the state of frustration which hit Netanyahu's insistence Americans to give sanctions and diplomacy more opportunities and time.

And saw the magazine that there several reasons behind this convergence of views between the two leaderships, including Iran's use of a new generation of centrifuges capable of enriching uranium much faster than 4-5 times the older generation, as well as the convergence of evaluation the United States and Israel on the stages reached Iran is now in the making of the bomb.

And considered "The Economist" that Netanyahu did not get the most important thing I was looking forward to Obama, a final warning to Iran should be to reach an agreement ending its uranium enrichment in a matter of months or face military action.

But Obama, in contrast, says the magazine, told Netanyahu that the United States is now closer to taking such action than ever before, and that he is ready to prolong the diplomatic negotiations until after this year unless Iran proves a remarkable change in orientation.

The commentary concluded by saying that the two allies if not match their positions after, at least they have become more closely than ever before, which is in itself an achievement from the point of view of Netanyahu.
